Local Government

NIPSA represents members working across Local Government in Northern Ireland, in a wide range of administrative, professional, technical, operational and frontline roles within all 11 local councils. Our members deliver the essential local services that communities rely on every day, and we fight to ensure their work is recognised, respected and properly rewarded.  

We stand together to defend jobs and services, fight for fair pay, protect terms and conditions and challenge cuts and pressures on council services. NIPSA continues to represent council members on pay and conditions and works collectively to secure improvements for Local Government workers.  

Through strong workplace organisation, negotiation, campaigning and collective action, NIPSA ensures Local Government workers have a powerful voice at work and in the decisions that affect their livelihoods and the services they deliver.
