NIPSA, the Northern Ireland Public Service Alliance is the largest trade union in Northern Ireland with nearly 43,000 members.
NIPSA is organised into two main groups; the Civil Service Group and the Public Officers Group. The Civil Service Group has a membership of 17,700 covering civil servants and the staff of public bodies employed on civil service terms and conditions.
The Public Officers Group has 25,294 members and covers employees of Education Authority, Health and Social Services bodies and HSC Trusts, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Local Government, Libraries NI and a number of other public bodies and voluntary organisations.

Deputy General Secretary, Geraldine Alexander1 has strategic lead on policy in the key specialist areas of equality, human rights, social affairs, health and safety, LGB&T and youth matters. Also has responsibility for Global Solidarity plus a range of HQ Organisation and Office Services, including GDPR.
