In the bulletin of 26 June, members were advised that we had not yet received a pay offer because the NI Executive parties had not agreed a budget. We understand that the NI Executive parties are still seeking to improve the Treasury allocation before a budget can be agreed.

NIPSA continues to press political leaders for a needs-based budget so that pay and public services are properly funded. Whilst we are cognisant of the fact that we are almost 5 months past the date by which the pay uplift was due, we are not, in the circumstances, pressing for an immediate offer which is likely to be unacceptable to members.

We will continue discussions with Management Side on pay-related issues and maintain our political engagement, including seeking a meeting with the Secretary of State, to highlight the ongoing delay and its impact on our members.

Further updates will be issued as necessary.

Yours sincerely

Maria Morgan,
Deputy General Secretary
