In furtherance of the aims of Motion No 88, which was guillotined at the 2021 NIPSA Annual Delegate Conference, and to coincide with National Autism Day the NIPSA Health and Safety Committee is organising a virtual event on Monday 4 April from 10.30am to 12.00 noon. The event is open to all members to attend and will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to Autism and Neurodiversity
  • Autism and disability/equality legislation
  • What is a reasonable adjustment in the workplace?
  • Supporting autistic employees and colleagues

Our Keynote Speaker is Christine Kearney from Autism NI. The following is information about the speaker:

Christine Kearney is the Director of Development within Autism NI, Northern Ireland’s main autism charity. Christine has worked extensively with a range of autistic children, young people and adults, and specialises in autism and accessibility training. As part of her role, Christine has also developed a training package and resource to promote autism accessibility in the workforce, as part of a European-wide task group. Autism NI supports the 30,000 autistic individuals and their families in Northern Ireland, and raises awareness of Autism within the wider society.
