The following motion was guillotined at the 2021 NIPSA Annual Delegate Conference.

“Conference calls on NIPSA’s General Council to actively promote the work that NIPSA members in the Department for Communities Make the Call team do in helping citizens in Northern Ireland receive all the social security benefits and services they are entitled to.

For the 2019/20 year Make the Call helped 9500 people in Northern Ireland claim an additional £44.1 million of social security benefits. In addition to supporting the update of unclaimed benefits they helped connect people to other support services, including the blue badge, free school meals and home safety checks.

Conference calls on the General Council, on a regular basis to inform members of the Make the Call benefits service, so that no NIPSA member or a member of their family misses out on any benefits or help that they are entitled to.”

The General Council considered the above motion and agreed to whole-heartedly support the motion. Therefore, I am enclosing a leaflet from the Make the Call Team which includes many NIPSA members who wish to assist other NIPSA members and their wider families in ensuring that no family misses out on any benefit or help they are entitled to.

Therefore, please circulate this letter and the attached leaflet widely amongst your membership and ensure they and their families are not missing out. It costs nothing to phone the number and get advice from a friendly experienced advisor.

Below is also the link to the make the call team.
