The election for the next NIPSA General Secretary will be held between 5 June 2026 and 3 July 2026.
Individual ballot papers will be issued directly to all members by the Independent Scrutineer who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the election.
We encourage every member to exercise their vote in this important election, on an individual basis, without interference or constraint.
If you do not receive a voting paper, please be advised that the deadline for replacement voting papers is 12noon Thursday 25 June. If a replacement voting paper is required they should contact NIPSA Membership on 02890 661831, 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
For any other queries on the election members should be advised to contact the Independent Scrutineer directly at:
Civica Election Services
33 Clarendon Road
LONDON
N8 0NW
Telephone: 020 83658909
It should also be noted that the only official documents being issued by NIPSA for this election will be the ballot paper with the related instructions plus a publication containing a copy of the election address submitted by each candidate.
Completed ballot papers should be returned in the pre-paid reply envelope provided. The pre-paid reply envelope has a different postcode to the address above to take account of Civica Election Services’ arrangements with Royal Mail for mail receipts. However, if any member loses the pre-paid envelope, the ballot paper can be posted directly to the address given.
Yours sincerely,
Carmel Gates, General Secretary
* Update 19 June 2026
We are aware that ballot papers have not yet arrived for many members. This is believed to be connected to the disorder that occurred last week which affected many businesses throughout Northern Ireland, including the postal service.
To ensure all members are given the opportunity to vote, it has been agreed to extend the deadline for receipt of completed ballot papers to 2pm on Friday 3 July 2026 (rather than the original date of 2pm Friday 26 June 2026).
