The five courageous NIPSA members abseiling down the Europa Hotel, while the less brave of us cheered from the pavement, was truly inspirational, even persevering despite the wet weather conditions. These five members have managed to raise in excess of £1,215, which is absolutely amazing not least of all because 100% of the monies that the Developing World Fund will receive from this fundraising event will be going directly towards future self-help projects selected by the Charity.

The efforts of the five NIPSA members means that the NIPSA’s Developing World Fund will continue in its 30+ year journey of supporting projects across the world. Further their fundraising efforts have meant that the Charity is able to continue its core aim to support projects across the globe that are sustainable and that seek to assist persons suffering from poverty, sickness or distress, to advance for the public benefit the education of the inhabitants of impoverished countries so that their conditions of life may be improved. These projects have included seeking to improve the health and well being of the people and communities through direct care, water and sanitation and the building of an appropriate health infrastructure, seeking to increase the living standards of communities through development of agricultural and livestock projects, health education and training as well as many, many more over the last three plus decades.

The NIPSA Global Solidarity Committee wishes to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the five NIPSA members for their bravery and their outstanding effort in raising such a phenomenal amount of money for the NIPSA Developing World Fund which will allow us to continue in our work in supporting and assisting others across the world.
