You will be aware that management have sought to begin a Test & Learn and Labour Market Call Activation whereby members will be required to engage Q&A sheets and call activation templates to support new claimants to Universal Credit.

Please note that this new process, its impact on current resources and especially the questions being put forward, such as evening appointments has not been discussed or agreed with Trade Union Side. We have now written on a number of occasions to query the process, to ask why there was no consultation with TUS and to demand that the process is paused to allow for these necessary discussions. Unfortunately, as of writing this communique, we have received no confirmation that management will pause the process and no confirmation that they will meet with us.

Given this, I would ask all Universal Credit reps to raise concerns with your local managers that as this new process has not been agreed with TUS, that NIPSA members should not be asked to complete the Labour Market Call Activation process until a meeting takes place to resolve our concerns. We will again seek to engage management on this tomorrow, Thursday, and I will come back to reps as soon as possible.

If you have any queries, please contact your seconded officer.
