Transgender NI have launched Transgender Awareness Week. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic they have not been able to run their normal course of events. However, they are planning some community action on the health care crisis which they will be launching via Twitter, click here.
Events to mark Transgender Awareness Week normally culminates in a memorial service held to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance in All Souls Church, Elmwood Avenue. Once again, due to the Covid restrictions this service will not take place. However, Queens University Belfast LGBTQIA+ Society are hosting an on-line vigil on Friday 20 November at 7.00pm via zoom to remember those who have been killed, abused and taken their own lives due to transgender hatred or prejudice. Details of the event can be found here.
