NIPSA's General Council have agreed to join with our sister unions PCS, FDA and Prospect in the legal proceedings seeking a judicial review of the Government's consultation over the 2018 civil service pay guidance which states that Departments (and this would include the NICS) would only be able to make average awards above 1-1.5% in exchange for further cuts.
It is now clear the UK Government never intended to consult trade unions on the new pay cap.
NIPSA has agreed to provide £15,000 towards the legal proceedings which shows our commitment to seeking to break the pay restraint that members have endured for far too long.
As members are aware we are in the middle of our Branch consultation exercise on the 2018-19 pay claim.
