We would like to bring your attention to an important matter regarding our ongoing negotiations with management.
As you are aware, on 25 of May 2023, we sent complex correspondence to the management, seeking their response to crucial matters affecting members pay. Regrettably, we have yet to receive a response from them, which is causing delays in our negotiations.
To ensure progress and continue with meaningful discussions, we have, once again, reached out to management today, urgently requesting a response. We understand that this delay has been frustrating for many of you, and we share in your concerns. Until we receive a response and have an opportunity to meet for further negotiations, there is nothing further we can advise our members at this time.
We would like to emphasise the importance of staying informed during this critical period. To facilitate seamless communication and updates, all circulars and necessary correspondence will be posted here on our official website. We strongly encourage each member to update their membership information, specifically providing their personal email addresses.
In the interest of fairness to all members, we will relay all relevant information through circulars and bulletins which will be posted on the NIPSA website, rather than responding to individual emails. This will ensure that everyone receives the same information simultaneously.
Your active participation and support are crucial during this phase of negotiations. We do appreciate and understand that there is frustration at the passage of time and the limited information disclosed on the detail of discussions to date, due to the confidential and without prejudice nature of the negotiations. Our representatives are working tirelessly to move matters forwards as quickly as possible and, crucially, in the best interests of the members and the workforce. We stress that the representatives have been working at all times in the best interests of the members and that there is no desire for undue delay on our part. We do however have a duty to ensure we act in the best interest of members and the workforce in the pay negotiations. We would also, and in that context, strongly remind members of the need to treat our representatives with dignity, care and respect and we would also remind members to take care in what is being said in correspondence and or on social media, especially as unfounded allegations and speculation can have a detrimental effect on the health and wellbeing of our representatives who are doing their best for all concerned. We are at our strongest when we act together in solidarity.
Rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to get a response from management and move forward towards a resolution that benefits all members.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation. We will continue to keep you informed through the website, by email and other official channels.
In solidarity.
