I refer to my earlier article on 17 May and the individual mailshot that was sent to members in May 2023 asking you to reaffirm your authority for NIPSA and McCartan Turkington Breen Solicitors to act on your behalf in relation to the Injury to Feelings cases lodged for those members who we believe were members of a public sector pension scheme on or before 1 April 2015 and who we believe have suffered age discrimination because of changes to their pension which occurred after this date. Further information about the claim can be accessed from the NIPSA website.

The purpose of this article is to remind members, if they have not already done so, to complete the consent form. You can use one of the following ways to reaffirm your authority:

  • Click above or the button above or scan the QR code that links to NIPSA specific section of our Solicitor’s website and answer the small number of questions required to provide the necessary consent relating to your claim;
  • or If you still have the pro-forma we sent with the individual mailshot, please complete and return it in the pre-paid envelope provided;
  • or Scan the completed pro-forma enclosed with the individual mailshot we sent and email to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.;
  • or Complete the pro-forma attached to this circular and email to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The quickest and easiest way to reaffirm your authority is to use the QR code or consent button.

Please note if you have already completed the pro-forma by using the QR code or returned via email or post then you do not have to do so again. Also given the volume of forms returned we are not in a position to acknowledge receipt.

For those members who joined NIPSA after the second tranche of claims were lodged at the end of August 2022, we will be issuing information shortly about submitting a claim on your behalf subject to you meeting the criteria, you should not complete and return the consent form at this point.

It should take you no more than two minutes to complete the short questionnaire and before completing the questionnaire, you will need the following:

  • Your NIPSA Membership Number (which was provided at the top of the individual letter sent or on your membership card).
  • Details of your pension provider as at 1 April 2015.
  • Your contact details.

It is imperative that you return the form as a matter of extreme urgency as a failure to do so is jeopardising your claim.

Our Solicitors are attending to the issue of consent at the end of August 2023. If your form is not returned before 15 August 2023, you may be jeopardising your claim thereafter.

It cannot be stressed enough; urgent action is required by 15 August 2023.
