You will be aware that the NICS was aiming to launch the above policy today, 4 April 2022. Trade Union Side were advised last week that this date will be delayed as the NI Executive has not changed its working from home message.
We have had sight of the Head of the Civil Service message to staff dated 1 April, advising you that while a delay is in place nothing will change and you should continue to work from home where you can, subject to business needs and in agreement with your line manager.
NIPSA have been closely involved in discussions centrally and at Departmental level on all of these matters to ensure that our members are protected and that any return to the workplace is safe for you. We are aware that Departments intend to progress plans to prepare for the message changing and that includes line managers and staff discussions on Workstyle Agreements which will allow a hybrid approach for future working for most staff and also some office reorganisation etc. is ongoing.
