I very much welcome the announcement yesterday by the Deputy First Minister that Health Workers who took strike action over December/January period will have their pay deduction reinstated.
As you are aware NIPSA members across the Northern Ireland Civil Service and related Arms Length Bodies took between 3 – 6 days strike action since July 2019 with other members in the Courts and Public Prosecution Service NI taking up to 12 days action in February/March 2020.
As many of these staff are now classified as key workers I am calling for you and your Executive colleagues to now recognise the vital role that civil servants deliver and reimburse the pay deducted from NIPSA members who took strike action since 26 July 2019.
This is clearly an issue of equality and equal treatment for all public sector workers.
