NIPSA welcomes the announcement yesterday, 9 December 2020, by the Health Minister Robin Swann, that money lost to members in the Health and Social Care sector through taking industrial action will be reimbursed.

Maria Morgan Health Official stated:

“NIPSA members, together with all the workers across the NHS, have risen to the challenge of being on the frontline in the fight against Covid-19 and the return of the pay lost through strike action in defence of the NHS is a small step that builds on the public support already given to health and social care workers.”

NIPSA will continue to engage with the Department of Health and the Trusts to ensure this money is repaid to our members as quickly as possible and NIPSA will continue to fight to ensure that issues surrounding safe staffing, an early and decent pay rise for all HSC members and the provision of properly funded health services are addressed going forward.
