Members employed as Warehouse Operatives in the Business Services Organisation based at Boucher Road, Belfast are due to take strike action on Friday 10 June 2016 at the Warehouse in Boucher Road. Please support this group of workers in their fight for fair and just working practices.

The basis of the dispute is as follows:

After a lengthy dispute lasting two years NIPSA members employed as Warehouse Operatives in the BSO, Boucher Road Warehouse have voted 100% for industrial action.

This long running dispute centres on the treatment of the Band 2 operatives. This ranges from the introduction of a ‘toilet break book’ to a member being threatened if he went on strike what would happen if his mother needed treatment in the hospital.

The main issue at the heart of the dispute is what is referred to as a “pick rate”. The pick rate is set at unacceptable and unachievable levels which members have been threatened with disciplinary action if they did not consistently achieve the set rate.

NIPSA are no longer prepared to tolerate our members being seen as second class NHS staff and members have been forced to take this step to protect their health, safety and welfare.

Support the Boucher Warehouse Staff by attending the picket line on Friday 10 June 2016
