Many of you will be aware that there have been management plans for Universal Credit staff to cancel all rotas and return staff to JBOs from Monday 08 June 2020.
This is opposed by NIPSA and we have been engaged with reps, office managers and senior management on this issue over the last few days.
While we have a meeting with senior management tomorrow morning on these plans, we have received confirmation today that advice has been issued to managers for the need for whole building health and safety risk assessments to be completed and for business areas to pause any imminent plans to return staff to their workplace until these assessments are completed.
Dept TUS have just agreed to Guiding Principles for Covid risk assessments that will assist in ensuring staff returning to work do so safely. I will be writing shortly to engage DfC NIPSA safety reps about what support we can give for these assessments to be carried out. We will allocate a safety rep to each DfC building to ensure risk assessments are completed in line with the guiding principles.
Following tomorrow's meeting with management I will issue further information on plans to safety return relevant staff to their workplace on a phased basis.
