NIPSA, the largest Public Sector Trade Union in Northern Ireland, calls on the Chief Executive of Western Health and Social Care Trust to confirm that any services re-structured or moved in response to the current Covid–19 emergency will be fully restored after the crisis has passed.

Alan Law, Trade Union Official, commented:

“A number of services have been moved, stood down or restructured as a result of Trust plans in response to the Covid19 health emergency, NIPSA is concerned that when the crisis passes these services will be downgraded or removed. Our experience to date when HSC Trusts remove services for a temporary period it ultimately leads to the permanent loss of those services and we simply do not wish the current health emergency to be used as a cover to achieve this.

I am calling on Dr Anne Kilgallen as Trust Chief Executive to confirm that services which have been reduced or removed are immediately restored once the Covid crisis has passed.”
